We run drop-ins at different locations in Liverpool. This is a safe place for women to come, eat, socialise and most importantly relax. We are looking for Drop-in Volunteers to support us with a range of different tasks during these sessions, to ensure their smooth running. As a small charity, we rely on the work of volunteers and in return can offer valuable and varied experience, within a passionate team.

Job Description

  • Working at reception, ensuring that service users are signed in and out

  • Greeting service users upon their arrival

  • Making service users feel welcome throughout their visit

  • Helping with setting up room at the beginning and clearing away at the end of drop-ins

  • Occasionally facilitating activities for children

  • Assisting with organising donations and running clothes sale

  • Helping with basic food preparation

  • Helping with washing up and keeping public areas tidy

Person Specification

  • Availability on either Tuesday, Thursday or Friday (Essential)

  • Minimum 3-month commitment for 3 hours (Essential)

  • A committed, enthusiastic person

  • An understanding of the barriers facing refugees and asylum seekers in the UK

  • Skills such as arts and crafts, music, English teaching (Desirable)

  • Knowledge of safeguarding and confidentiality (Desirable)

  • Knowledge of health and safety (Desirable)

  • A second language (Desirable)
