We are currently recruiting interpreting volunteers to help deliver information sessions for our new Integration Project helping newly arrived asylum seekers in Liverpool.

We are looking for female interpreters who speak:

-Amharic

-Tigrinya

-Kurdish Sorani

-Albanian

-Urdu

-Farsi

-Somali

The role will be remote working but it is preferable that volunteers have good knowledge of Liverpool.

  • Description of the project: Help newly arrived asylum seekers get to know Liverpool and meet new people etc. Everything will be on Zoom. Work with other volunteers and service users.
  • Job description: Deliver information sessions and/or interpret the information session. 
  • Essential: commit to delivering a one-hour session per week for at least six weeks (opportunities to continue afterwards but this is the least they need to be able to commit to); ability to use/set up Zoom meetings; fluent in English and another language from list
  • Desired but not essential: lived experience of the asylum process, experience of interpreting/work experience related 
  • All applicants will undergo a DBS & a safeguarding risk assessment.
