TikTok Volunteer

Refugee Women Connect (RWC) is a Liverpool based charity dedicated to supporting women refugees, asylum seekers and survivors of trafficking. We are looking for a natural visual storyteller to strengthen our social media content and help share key messages in an engaging way. As our TikTok volunteer, you will be responsible for designing original content for our TikTok channel including developing ideas and working alongside the Graphic Design volunteer to present information in a visually engaging way. As a small charity we rely on the work of volunteers and in return we offer valuable and varied experience within a passionate team.

This role will be entirely home based. 

Please note due to the nature of the work involved, this position is restricted to only women applicants

 

Volunteer Responsibilities

  • Create visually engaging social media content for TikTok considering trends and research developed by Refugee Women Connect to develop easily understandable information for our target audience.
  • Develop and manage a content calendar for TikTok
  • Keep track of relevant ‘World Days’ to plan content around these to reach new audiences.
  • Assist the Communications Officer and Digital Content and Artistic Coordinator to create infographics and visually engaging posts for communication activities

Volunteering commitment

The needs of the Communications Team will vary from week to week but as a minimum you should be able to commit to 2 hours per week for a minimum of 3-months.

 

Person Specification

 Essential

  • To be non-judgmental and non-discriminatory and to be aware of the importance of equal opportunities
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Knowledge of social media trends
  • Experience using and developing content for TikTok
  • Previous experience producing graphics
  • Experience of drawing graphics of people/women
  • Professional, enthusiastic, and self-motivated
  • Good level of written and spoken English

 

Desirable

  • An understanding of the barriers facing refugees and asylum seekers in the UK
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and confidentiality
  • Working knowledge of graphic editing software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • A second language
