I’m running the Sefton Park Women's 10k to raise funds for Refugee Women Connect, a Liverpool-based charity supporting women asylum seekers, refugees, and survivors of trafficking. Many of these women seek help from RWC after fleeing conflict, abuse, or exploitation, facing trauma, isolation, and an unfamiliar asylum system that can feel overwhelming. Through outreach, drop-ins, advocacy, and emotional and practical support, the charity helps women to navigate the asylum process. RWC empowers women with the knowledge of their legal rights and provides a vital support system to help victims rebuild their lives.

All women deserve safety, dignity and justice, especially those facing challenges brought about through circumstances beyond their control. I’m passionate about spotlighting the important, life-changing work Refugee Women Connect do, and I will be running in solidarity with the women they support. Lucy Moynihan
