Get support for someone else If you know a woman who is claiming asylum, has been refused or has been granted leave to remain then they may benefit from using our services. We can support them in a range of ways, both at our drop-in and through one-to-one support. Our services are delivered by women for women. We primarily offer support through our women only drop-ins. At the drop-ins there are refreshments, including a meal, opportunities to meet other women, get help and support from staff, volunteers and some other organisations that attend the drop-in. Children are always welcome and we have toys for them to play with. Women can get one-to-one casework and emotional support, find out more about the asylum process and life in the UK and get information about specialist services that could be useful to them. Women can request for someone to go with them to an important appointment, such as a hospital appointment or court. If their support needs are complex we may be able to offer them additional one-to-one support outside of drop-in.To access our services, you can ask the person you know to attend one of our drop-ins. They can turn up to any drop-in and do not need to let us know they are coming in advance. If you need details of when and where our drop-ins run then please contact us. If you are concerned that the person you want us to support will not be able to attend any of our drop-ins, or if you would like to give us information about a specific issue, then please make a referral using our referral form and the external referral guidance notes provided. We also have a Mental Health Programme where women can access support groups, one-to-one emotional support, arts and crafts, and various well-being activities. To refer someone into this service, please complete the following referral form and email to [email protected]. This year we have launched The Sisterhood Project, this is a new project within the mental health team at Refugee Women Connect, specifically for young women aged 16-25. The project is tailored to the needs of women in this age range and offers a variety of support options including group support, one to one mental health support and wellbeing activities.
