I am really excited to be running the 5K Santa dash (in a Santa costume) on 1st December. 5K may not be a groundbreaking distance, but earlier this year I struggled to run for just a few minutes, so it’s more impressive for me than it sounds!

I have recently become a fundraising volunteer for a wonderful female lead charity, Refugee Women Connect. It is a brilliant cause , focused on creating and rebuilding safe communities for refugees, asylum seekers and survivors of trafficking in our local Merseyside areas. The charity does this in a number of different ways, including weekly visits to initial accommodation centres and weekly drop-ins where both emotional and practical support is provided, including mental health self-esteem support groups, one to one sessions and more.

I volunteer with the charity as an event coordinator, organising fun and unique events catering to people with all different interests - there is something for everyone. Keep your eyes peeled for what is to come!
