Strike A Pose: Special IWD Fashion Collection On the 7th of March, Refugee Women Connect proudly presents our second charity fashion show – Strike a Pose – hosted at the iconic Camp and Furnace. Expect a night like no other as our sensational models take to the stage, showcasing the stunning creations of our ten talented designers, including a collection created by Refugee Women Connect’s service users. It’s a night celebrating fashion, community, diversity and the vital work Refugee Women Connect does. As part of our International Women’s Day celebrations Refugee Women Connect will be showcasing our own collection of outfits. This collection is a collaborative effort from women who have participated in art workshops during weekly drop-in sessions. It has 5 pieces featuring an embellished jacket which over 70 women have worked on and two special pieces that have been created in recent workshops. To tie in with our International Women’s Day theme, the women have answered a series of questions about being a women, the women that inspire them and their hopes and dreams for themselves as well as women around the world. Their answers have been stitched and embroidered into the garments you’ll see on stage! Our embroidered jacket, from a previous exhibition ‘stories through stitching’ will be making a return, after being display at last years Strike A Pose, this year it will be making it’s debut on the runway! The women we work with inspire us every day, and making space for their voices is so important. This collection celebrates that, giving women a platform to be seen and heard through fashion as a creative expression. RWC's Strike A Pose Charity Fashion Show tickets Manage Cookie Preferences
