19th December

In 2019 Maha, an active member of RWC was referred to Refugee Action to be trained as an advocate and be part of Refugee Action’s Expert By Experience group.

Maha has played a huge role in the group and was nominated to attend a humanitarian reception at Buckingham Palace with the King and Queen.

Maha said ''I spoke to the King and Queen about the impact of the long waiting time for asylum seekers in receiving a decision on their claim and how asylum seekers want to work and contribute to the economy and their now communities if given the opportunity''. In response the Queen said ''we will look into that''.

Maha is excited about the opportunity and looking to inspire other women.

This December, help us to continue supporting refugee women in the North West. Every donation, big or small, can make a huge difference to asylum seeking and refugee women in our community.
