Countdown to Christmas with RWC 8th December

On the 8th March we celebrated International Women’s Day with a Fashion Show and Fundraising Event, we showcased a special project that the women of Refugee Women Connect had been working on.

'Stories through stitching'
This exhibition was a collaborative effort from more than 70 women who have participated in art workshops during weekly drop-in sessions and a new Fashion Design and Sewing group at Refugee Women Connect. Amongst the group, 20 different languages are spoken with women representing 25 countries from around the world. These talented women used their newfound and pre-existing abilities to create beautiful garments, utilising fashion design and needlework as a platform for storytelling.
