Last week we were delighted to be able to attend the launch of the Good Food; Our Food Photography exhibition at the Black-E. The exhibition featured a series of images taken by photographer Emma Case who spent time with local communities in order to build up a collection of stories, interviews and photography about food and the traditions and memories it holds.

Over several weeks Emma attended our Tuesday drop-in taking photographs and sharing conversations with the women who cook the delicious meal we serve each week.

“I love cooking. It makes me feel good as it reminds me of who I am & where I come from. When I miss home, I just cook this dish & I feel like I’m home”

Not only were the women who attend drop-in able to be involved in the photographs but our art group were able to create this beautiful fabric piece showcasing their favourite foods!
